Our writing style

Everything we do is to help the most vulnerable and neglected children, young people and their families - and that includes the way we write.

In a nutshell, we aim to write simply, well and with sensitivity, in a way a secondary school child will understand, and in a way they won't find upsetting. It's common sense, really. You wouldn't want someone writing in a sensational manner about your difficulties, so it's essential to never write like that about someone else's. Remember that and you'll be right on brand.

You'll still need to download and read through the writing guidelines and house style guide though, because there's lots of detail you still need to know. But don't worry, it won't take long, and they're written to be useful and easy for you, because they're right on brand too!
